Berwyn, Illinois – A heartbreaking act of gun violence in Berwyn, Illinois, left 26-year-old Danielle Aguirre dead and another individual in critical condition after a double shooting on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Tragically, Aguirre lost her life as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, while the second victim continues to fight for their life in the hospital.

At approximately 1:08 p.m. on the day of the incident, Berwyn police officers responded to several reports of gunfire in the 3200 block of Clinton Avenue. Upon their arrival, they found two victims who had suffered from gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, but Aguirre was later pronounced dead.

The second victim remains in critical condition as investigators work to piece together the details of this devastating event.

The Berwyn Police Department quickly enlisted the help of the West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force (W.E.S.T.A.F.) to assist in the investigation. Within hours of the shooting, law enforcement identified a male suspect believed to be involved in the attack. The suspect was located at 3:40 p.m. in Hillside, Illinois, where he was arrested without resistance and taken to the Berwyn Police Department for further questioning.

Authorities believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute and have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community. The investigation remains active as law enforcement works to uncover more details.
