Elon Musk has made a bold claim that’s stirring up conversation across the globe: “They basically want to kill me because I’m stopping their fraud.” The billionaire tech mogul says powerful forces are out to get him because of his efforts to expose and eliminate government waste and corruption.
In a recent Fox News interview, which Musk also shared on his social media platform X, the Tesla CEO didn’t hold back. His remarks came just days after widespread protests against both Musk and U.S. President Donald Trump erupted on April 5, 2025.

Musk, who currently serves as a senior advisor to President Trump and heads the Department of Government Efficiency, said he’s facing threats not just personally, but professionally. “They want to hurt Tesla because we’re stopping this terrible waste and corruption in the government,” he added.
As part of his role, Musk has launched multiple investigations into federal agencies, including the Departments of Defense, Treasury, Education, Health, and USAID. His goal: reduce the cost of running the government and root out inefficiencies. But according to Musk, that mission has made him powerful enemies.
“I guess they’re bad people,” he said. “And bad people will do bad things.”
With growing tension in the U.S. political landscape, and Musk’s increasing influence within the federal government, his comments have sparked intense debate online and beyond.
