In a dramatic turn of events that gripped the Kliptown CBD earlier today, two men were arrested after a swift operation by SAPS Kliptown Group ‘C’ and the scene played out like something straight from an action movie.
It all began when police received a tip-off about a suspicious vehicle spotted in the area. Acting fast, Sergeant Zungu and Constable Xaba raced to the scene. As they approached, the two suspects leapt from the vehicle and tried to make a run for it, triggering a tense foot chase through the busy streets of Kliptown.
The officers managed to outrun and arrest both men. One of them was found carrying an unlicensed firearm, later confirmed to be stolen in a Klerksdorp CAS case. The second suspect was caught with a dangerous weapon in his possession.
Both individuals are currently in police custody as investigations continue into the origin of the weapons and their potential involvement in other criminal activities.
