Residents in the Eastern Cape were left stunned after a man pretending to be a qualified medical doctor was arrested for running an illegal private clinic. The individual, who went by the name “Dr.” LS Jonga, had been treating unsuspecting patients from a fully equipped surgery all without a single certified medical qualification to his name.

Acting on a tip-off, local law enforcement moved quickly to shut down the unauthorized operation. Inside, they found a clinic that looked entirely legitimate the kind of place you’d expect real medical care. But behind the white coat was someone with no formal medical training at all.

Authorities confirmed that Jonga was not registered with any medical board and held no official credentials. As investigations continue, officials are working to uncover exactly how many people were treated and whether anyone suffered harm from the fake doctor’s care.

Health officials are now urging the public to stay vigilant. They’re encouraging everyone to double-check the credentials of healthcare professionals and to report anything that seems suspicious.
